Elmer, Danhostel Hostel
the Iland Mors

According to legend, "the pearl of the Limfjord" served as God's model when he created Jutland, and certainly "the pearl of the Limfjord" does embrace all the different landscapes of Jutland. Along its coast you will find shallow salt meadows with deeply cut inlets and grass and bush clad hillsides sloping steeply down towards the fjord.
Some of the characteristics of the northern part of MORS are the hilly terrain and the steep MOLER hillsides with insertions of black ashes while the rest of the island is shaped with softer curves. From any hill top along the fjord you can see the fields and varying vegetation of the island. The island itself is rich on sights - you can mount the hill tops of HANKLIT or SALGERHØJ from where you can count the numerous churches and see all the way to KING FEGGE'S grave, or you can study the geological deposits, visit castles and manors, or experience the beauty of nature in JESPERHUS FLOWER PARK and at LEGIND hills.

A trip to the north western corner of Denmark - HANSTHOLM - is within reach from the island. The same applies for a visit to the beautiful island FUR with a short detour to the old castle SPØTTRUP in Salling from where you can get a breathtaking view over MORS.
